John Osadsky, along with Bob Cook, died in an auto accident near Winona, Mississippi on August 4, 1966.  They were traveling home from a Florida trip with hopes of reaching Racine in time to enroll at RTI (now Gateway Tech).   Investigators said I-55 road construction with re-routed lanes contributed to the crash.

Whatever the reasons for the accident, John and Bob died without getting to experience another 50 years like the rest of us have.  19 years old... just kids, really.   Good boys who left too soon, and good friends who won’t be forgotten.

Thanks John. I didn't know where the accident occured and think I was out of WI when it happened. "Cook and Osadsky"  was like some weird mantra to me back then as I recall being on the roads with them wondering if we were going to make it to wherever. Wild senses of humor, they were like James Dean characters to me, all the more poingnant for their early deaths. What would they have been like after 50 years we'll never know. I haven't played life entirely cautious (currently laid up with a broken leg due to a motorcycle "event") but am still around and have had amazing experiences.

Meteors, comets or whatever, perhaps there's a pair of comets travelling together between the Sun and the Ooort Cloud that should bear their names.
