 RACINE - Kathleen 'Kathi' Elaine (nee Shellberg) Kuiper, 68, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints. She was born in Racine on February 16, 1947, the daughter of the late Theodore and Evelyn (nee Kind) Shellberg. Kathi was a graduate of Washington Park High School class of 1965. On August 27, 1966 Kathi was united in marriage to J. David Kuiper in Racine. She was a past member of Racine Christian Reformed Church and had attended Racine Bible Church. She had been employed part time with Needle Works in Racine. Kathi enjoyed needlework and especially loved reproducing old fashioned samplers. Then searching antique malls for frames to complete her projects. Surviving is her husband of 49 years, David and their daughters, Candace (Randy) Wood and Valerie (Jim) Svoboda; grandchildren, Cooper, Jackson, Tessa and Hannah and special friend of many years, Kris Acklam. She is further survived by a brother, sister, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be we at Sturino Funeral Home on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 1130 a.m. There will be a time to meet with the family from 10 a.m. until time of service. I was thinking about Kathi a few days back. I used to work for a man with the same last name. I'm fairly sure they weren't related because he was from The Netherlands. But, there is the coincidence factor.

Was soo sorry to see of Kathy's passing...have not seen her in years, but she was a great gal and lived in the area of 16th St...Hard to read about classmates of our age passing...when I still feel young at heart...my heart goes out to her hubby and family...RIP Kathy...and only hope she did not suffer...In Sympathy...Carol

Kathy and I we're members of the Racine county home maker's. She was a very talented crafter. It's been 2years since I last saw her, She had health problems for many years.S will be dearly missed.
