I still remember playing football alongside Lyle in 9th grade at Mitchell.  He was a gentle giant; quiet and quite affable.

Thanks Charles. Yes I remember Lyle as a solid, quiet guy and, yes, mainly by way of football. It's interesting to consider the bond of playing sports together after all these years.

I remember Lyle too. We both lived off of 16th Street, I on Holmes Avenue and I think Lyle lived on Grange. We took the short cut over the golf course and through Washington Park when the weather was good.  Anyway it was nice to walk with someone and I thought we were quite chatty. Maybe that was more me with my big mouth, and Lyle just being polite!  Anyway a nice guy.

Lyle was truly a "Gentle Giant". Lyle lived at 1600 Grange Avenue(Lower). He had an older and a younger sister. He worked as a bagger for the Piggly Wiggly on Taylor in HS and until he went into the Air Force. We used to play baseball and touch football at Knapp Playground. He and I got in a fight and we fought to a draw. I used to see Lyle and his family at the Brewers and Kenosha Twins games allot. I never read the obits until one day I read them and there he was. I was glad I could go to his funeral.
