HANCOCK - David J. Olson, 61, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008. He was born in Racine on July 27, 1947. He resided in Racine and attended Washington Park High School. He went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh after returning home a decorated veteran from the Vietnam War. David owned and operated the Lake Park Den. He furthered his work record by joining the management team for ARA. He moved to Hancock in 1989, where he owned and operated Sneaky Pete's. David worked at the Coloma Supermarket as the Meat Cutter. He suffered from a very painful nerve disorder and was under treatment for just shy of 13 years. David was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed gardening and the game of pool. He is survived by many people, whose lives he deeply touched, his special friend, B.J. Slife and her children, Nick and Megan of Hancock; his step-daughter, Michelle (Bob) Conley; grandchildren, Johnathan, Amiee, Isabelle, Amanda, and Calvin Conley of Plainfield; and one step-son, Jason Nelsen. David was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Luella (nee: Blatchley) Olson; and his brother, Dean Olson.
