Bruce and I were best buddies in A Cappella our senior year which carried over to the football team (not many football players in the choir).  We had a lot of laughs in our small tenor section.  I always found him with a quick smile, a quick wit, and he was always very upbeat.  A great guy and friend in high school.

I almost forgot an important fact ... Bruce and I were born the EXACT same day.  We always got to be one of the first to celebrate birthdays after the school year began each fall.

Now two old friends are gone. In high school Bruce dated Kitty Boone for while.  Kitty was one of my close friends.  Kitty's family moved to Elgin IL.  Bruce tried to have a long disistance relationship and we double dated for a while.  Bruce driving to Elgin with me and  Glen in the back seat. I remember the long drive to Elgin, It  was an hour plus a few minutes, and then we had the long drive home after an evening of fun.  Good times.

More recently I played cards with Bruce over the last few years at a Tueday evening card club.  We played together a couple of days before he passed away, we were shocked to get the call he died.  He was always late for cards, but had a great story to tell as to why he was late.  He was always upbeat and knew just how to win points playing.  We miss his banter. his war stories and good humor.
