Tonight, May 28, 2014, I  received an email from our classmate Suzanne Mikulecky Johnson.  She told me that her husband, Brian, also our classmate, had died this morning.  He had suffered from Alzheimer's.

Brian M. Johnson, resident of Glen Ellyn for 38 years, passed away on May 28, 2014 after a valiant fight with Alzheimer’s. Born May 22, 1947, beloved husband of Suzanne for 42 years; loving father of Dr. Jennifer Johnson, Rebecca (Jacob) Scholz and Laura Johnson; dear grandfather of Olivia Scholz; devoted son of the late Carlyle and Nancy Johnson; fond brother of Eileen Johnson; uncle of Chris, Ryan, Carrie and Rick. Brian graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and earned his MBA from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Outside of his work as the CFO of the American Dental Association, he enjoyed gardening, watching his children participate in sports and visiting National Parks. Brian was a novice coach for the Glen Ellyn speed skating club. Brian was a proud Wisconsin Badger fan. Visitation Friday, May 30th from 5p.m.-9p.m. at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn. Visitation Saturday May 31 Faith Lutheran Church, 41 N. Park, Glen Ellyn from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Rush Alzheimer’s Research Center, 600 S. Paulina St. Suite 1026A, Chicago, IL 60612.
