 BARTELT RACINE - Edith 'Edie' B. (nee: Cymer) Bartelt, 64, passed away after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Aurora VNA Zilber Family Hospice, Wauwatosa. Edith was born in Racine, February 8, 1947, daughter of the late Henry and Lily (Nee: Lewis) Cymer and niece of the late Edwin Cymer. Edie was a graduate of Washington Park High School 'Class of 1965'. In her younger years she was a homemaker and worked in various retail establishments, most recently as a caregiver at Home Instead. She was a coin collector and her other pastimes included knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include her longtime companion, Bill Mross; her daughters, Wendy Bartelt of Racine, and Cindy (Jeremy) Ahles of New Berlin; her grandchildren, Todd Bartelt, Brandon, Cameron and Payton Ahles; her sister, Geri (Gary) Petersen of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011, 9:30 a.m. at Bethania Lutheran Church, 4120 Wright Avenue with Rev. Pam Lange officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service at 9:30 a.m. Memorials to the Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Alliance, 13825 West National Avenue Suite 103, New Berlin, WI 53151 have been suggested. Edie's family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Michael Mullane, Dr. Peter Johnson and staffs and the hospice staff at the Aurora VNA Zilber Family Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. Kathleen Wieczorek (Urbaniak)

Eddie was one of my best friends, she actually was quite the photographer and gave me a wonderful album when I got married to my husband Larry in April 28,2001.. I really miss her and think of her often when I make my many visits to Racine.
