William Christian Christensen, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife, and friends at home on Sunday, December 19, 2021. He was born on April 04, 1947 in Racine, WI to Bernard and Ellen (Kranzusch) Christensen. Bill married Cindy Smith on September 12, 1998 in Washington, IL, and she survives. Also surviving are his brother, David (Sharon) Lee Christensen, and multiple nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eleanor “Elfers” McCarthy; and half-brothers, Bernard Christensen and Richard Christensen. Bill was employed by Proctor Hospital as an HVAC Boiler Operator with over 43 years of dedicated service. He was a Vietnam veteran who served aboard the U.S.S. Dixie in the Navy. He was a faithful member of Fellowship Bible Church, enjoyed singing, hockey, and Green Bay Packers football. For several years he sang the national anthem at the Peoria Rivermen Hockey games. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 11AM at Fellowship Bible Church with Dr. Jason Alligood officiating. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 26, 2021 from 5-7PM at the church, and also an hour prior to the funeral service. Memorials may be made to Fellowship Bible Church.
