Jim became a life-long friend after we met in seventh grade at Mitchell Junior High in band (he was a true musician--I was there for the fun). He was a groomsman in our wedding, and we stayed in contact until his death. He was known as Uncle Jim to our children. Jim was loved by his elementary level students for his ability to provide them with the skills and information they needed to succeed as well as his endless humor and compassion. It's sad that someone so full of life lost his too early.
